Asia is the Founder of The Art Closet and an interdisciplinary artist from Houston, TX currently pursuing a B.F.A. in Studio Art at the University of North Texas (UNT). She is interested in socially engaged art that encourages community engagement, public art and access to resources and art education. She founded the initiative in 2018 to provide access to free art supplies to visual arts students at UNT. As a Black woman and first-generation student pursuing visual arts, she knew that this was a resource needed by other BIPOC and marginalized students.

She is an artist whose work is about her identity - her heritage, ancestry, appearance, and mental health. Through her disciplines including photography, sculpture, book art, and more, she produces work about progressing and processing knowledge of her cultural heritage, personal histories, and self. Read more about her and her work on her website.
